The carmel sauce, which is put into the middle of the cupcakes after they are cooled, is a perfect compliment for the light brown sugar cake. The carmel buttercream is a perfect topper that brings it all together! They turned out good, I brought them to work and they were a hit!
I found this recipe on www.Sprinklebakes.com and adapted it into my own version. The recipe called them Triple Salted Carmel Cupcakes, well ... I tried the swirly carmel decorations for the top and they did not turn out, and I omitted the 2nd carmel sauce that was for the frosting because I had excess from the carmel filling and the ingredients were nearly identical, so mine only have ONE kind of carmel to go with the brown sugar cupcakes. :)
