Here are some pictures of cakes I've done recently, quite a few more coming up in the next few months, too! The Minnie cake was made for my cousin's little girl, Aubree. She is a lover of all things PINK! The cake was strawberry with strawberry cream cheese frosting (pink, of course!!). I had fun doing this cake, I like things that are a challenge, and this cake certainly was one! :) This princess cake was for our friend's 6 year old girl. It was chocolate with vanilla buttercream and covered in the marshmallow fondant. I used a pink shimmer dust on the pink parts, but I don't think it really showed up all that well. It was definitely PINK! :) Last, but not least, a cake for a coworker's son - Captain America shield, marble cake with vanilla buttercream. :) This cake was a challenge to keep the lines as straight as I could, but I think it turned out ok, most importantly, all the birthday kids liked their cakes! :)

This was a recipe I've had bookmarked for awhile, but hadn't had a reason to make them. My cousin's birthday was yesterday, so I decided to make her some birthday cupcakes! They were quite tasty, the frosting certainly tastes like a strawberry malt. If you are not a fan of malt powder, these are probably not the cupcakes for you, but if you are -- you're in luck! :) I should have colored the frosting pink because it looks a little blah, but that certainly doesn't affect the taste! I also was running low on powdered sugar, and my frosting looks a bit droopy. I struggle with cream cheese frosting regardless, why does it have to taste so good and be so difficult! :)
You can find the recipe HERE. :) I made this scrumptious little number for Easter! I found the recipe on Pinterest, seriously, if you haven't checked it out yet, you need to!
You can find the recipe HERE. It was fairly easy, I only ended up using half of the amount of the Carmel layer, the rest got put in the fridge for ice cream toppings at a later date! I also omitted the nuts due to a cousin with nut allergies, better safe than sorry! :) Anyways, I recommend this if you like Carmel, chocolate and cheesecake (and really, who doesn't?!!)!! |
