I had a couple birthday cakes to make this past weekend, one 40th and one 50th, I think they both turned out good! :)

Pictures of a couple cakes I made last weekend. The two little smash cakes were for an adorable set of twins who had their first birthday this past weekend. The theme was thing 1 and thing 2 from Dr. Seuss. The 2nd cake was Minnie Mouse for a coworker's little girl's 3rd Birthday. :) I have 2 more cakes to do this weekend that I will post pictures of ASAP. :)
A couple new things I've tried -- Chocolate cupcakes with Butterfinger frosting (awesome!) and Mini Cheesecakes! The ones pictured are peanut butter cheesecake with oreo crust topped with chocolate ganache and chopped up pb cups.
I've been slacking on updating my blog, but here are some pictures of recent cakes I've done -- Music, Hello Kitty, Monster Truck and Portal of Power cake from the Skylanders Video Game. I have quite a few more cakes coming up and I will try get them posted on here in a timely fashion! :)
This is the wedding cake that my sister, Adrienne, helped me with. She made almost all the roses to go around the cake, bless her heart. :) I never would have finished without her help! Everything else was hand painted on the cake. The bottom two layers were styrofoam and the top layer was real cake so the bride and groom could save it for their 1 year anniversary.
I've been kind of slacking in updating this blog, I apologize. Here are some pictures of the most recent cakes I've done... The cake above was for a Barnesville football player's birthday. The cake and cupcake below were for a Batchlorette Masquerade theme party, the small cake sat on top of a cupcake stand with the cupcakes below it. Cheetah print birthday cake for an old coworker's little girl.
Strawberry Shortcakes were for a coworker whose two daughters were celebrating a birthday. I made 2 four inch cakes, one for each birthday girl, and the 10 inch round cake go accompany it. (I took the mini cake picture next to the can of pop so you could see how small they are) The cake was strawberry with vanilla frosting. I think it turned out cute!
These cupcakes were for a coworker's mom who loves bowling! I thought they turned out pretty cute, I made the balls and pins out of gumpaste. The cupcakes were chocolate with carmel butter cream.
